PUBLIC NOTICE – WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – 20 March 2024

All customers are hereby advised that Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) has temporarily halted operations at the Olifantspoort plant and all outstations due to a malfunction with the high-lift pumps delivery valve. Replacement of the faulty valve is currently underway and is expected to be completed by 16h00 today.

Upon completion of the replacement, water supply will be restored; however, it may take some time for the flow to reach all areas within Polokwane Municipality.

This interruption comes at a time when the municipality is facing water shortages due to high temperatures, while reservoirs are still in the process of replenishing.

This will impact all areas of supply within Polokwane Municipality, from Ga-Chuene to the City and Seshego.
While Polokwane Municipality and Lepelle Northern Water work diligently to restore full water supply, the municipality will continue to monitor areas experiencing shortages and provide temporary relief of supply to affected areas.

In light of these challenges, the municipality urges residents in areas where water is available to use it sparingly and responsibly; and further apologises for the inconvenience caused.
