ROLL-OUT OF WATER AND ELECTRICITY SMART METERS

 

Polokwane Municipality is currently implementing a strategic programme to roll out water and electricity smart meters across municipal areas as part of its ongoing commitment to modernising service delivery.

 

This important initiative is designed to improve billing accuracy, enhance consumption monitoring, promote responsible usage of resources and strengthen the municipality’s ability to provide efficient, reliable and sustainable services to all residents.

 

As part of this rollout, the appointed service provider will begin replacing old meters with new smart meters at Ga-Rena Housing Rental Village in Ladanna from Saturday, 21 February 2026 and will continue until all units are fully installed with the new smart metering system.

 

The municipality kindly appeals for the full cooperation of all Ga-Rena tenants, as well as residents in other areas where installations are taking place. Access to properties will be required to ensure the smooth and timely completion of this critical upgrade.
