INFRASTRUCTURE UNDER ATTACK: SESHEGO WATER SUPPLY DISRUPTED, SUSPECT ARRESTED
Polokwane Municipality has been made aware of water shortages currently affecting certain areas in Seshego. Following a swift investigation, it was established that critical service infrastructure has been vandalised — with 7 out of 15 boreholes at pump stations damaged, directly affecting supply to Zone 8, Zone 5 and parts of Zone 4.
In a decisive breakthrough, a suspect was apprehended and is currently detained at Seshego Police Station, after being caught red-handed vandalising infrastructure at a pump station in the Luthuli Park area.
The municipality has already commenced with efforts to revive the affected boreholes, and supply to the impacted areas is expected to be restored soon.
Polokwane Municipality strongly urges all community members to safeguard service infrastructure and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the municipality or the Police. Protecting our shared resources is the responsibility of all, and together we can ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Report issues via MyPolokwane Citizen App or contact municipal Water and Sanitation Call Centre at 015 290 2376 or send WhatsApp text to 068 290 8736.
End!
