Public Notice – EMERGENCY ALERT: WATER SUPPLY DISRUPTION AGAIN – 22 April 2024

All affected customers are hereby informed that Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) has notified Polokwane Municipality of yet another stoppage at the Olifantspoort Plant, just less than 24 hours since water supply was restored.

The stoppage is attributed to a pipe leak on the Specon pipeline. Additionally, repairs will be conducted on another pipe leak located just outside pump station 2 (PS2).

LNW is currently assessing the extent of the issue and will provide an estimated time for completion of repairs and restoration of water supply to Polokwane Municipality.

This interruption will exacerbate the strain on reservoir levels and affect water supply to all areas within Polokwane Municipality from Ga-Chuene to the City and Seshego.

Polokwane Municipality will provide regular updates on the progress of repairs and restoration efforts as communicated by LNW.

In the interim, areas experiencing water shortages will be supported through the deployment of water tankers to provide temporary relief.

The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
