POLOKWANE MUNICIPALITY ADDRESSES FLOODLIGHT INCIDENT AT SESHEGO STADIUM
Polokwane Municipality deeply regrets the unforeseen technical issue with the floodlights at Seshego Stadium last night. The municipality recognizes the inconvenience this may have caused to players, officials and passionate football supporters.
The municipality apologizes to the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Magesi FC, Chippa United and all football fans who were affected by this incident and fully acknowledges the importance of delivering a seamless match-day experience.
A thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the root cause of the malfunction and to implement the necessary measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
It is important to highlight that all standard tests were successfully conducted before the match and the system was fully functional then. However, the municipality commits itself to ensuring the reliability of its sporting facilities and providing an optimal experience for both players and spectators.
Polokwane Municipality calls upon all football lovers to continue showing support for their teams for the upcoming matches, including the much-anticipated fixture on Saturday, 08 February 2025 at Seshego Stadium between Magesi FC and Cape Town City.
