UPGRADING OF ROAD FROM TITIBE TO MAROBALA AND MAKGOBA – PROGRESS UPDATE
The transformation of the road linking Titibe, Marobala and Makgoba is steadily taking shape on the ground. On site, visible progress marks a major milestone as the surfacing of the 1.5km stretch has now been successfully completed, bringing relief and renewed hope to the communities that rely on this vital route.
As part of the final preparations, the contractor is currently clearing access points to residents’ properties, ensuring safe and convenient movement for households along the route. The road is set to open to the public during the December holidays, allowing motorists and residents to benefit from the improved infrastructure during this busy travel period.
To prioritise safety, temporary road signs and markings will be installed ahead of opening, guiding motorists and protecting pedestrians as traffic resumes.
Looking ahead, the project continues into the new year. The construction of the concrete V-drain and the installation of kerbs are scheduled to commence in January 2026, completing the work and reinforcing long-term durability, drainage and road safety.
