POLOKWANE HAS ENTERED ITS “FOOTBALL FEVER” ERA AND THE QUEENS ARE IN TOWN

Polokwane is ready to take centre stage as the beautiful game meets the power of women in sport.

This week, the city proudly hosts the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship, bringing the Africa’s finest football talent right to our doorstep.

The action kicks off at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday, 18 February 2026 at 12h00 with a match between Lesotho and Angola setting the tone for days of thrilling competition.

All eyes will then turn to 15h00 when our very own South Africa women’s national football team, Banyana Banyana step onto home turf, carrying the hopes of a nation and the spirit of a city that lives and breathes sport.

Polokwane is welcoming a celebration of talent and African excellence.
