PLANNED TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURE: NELSON MANDELA DRIVE (SANDRIVER BRIDGE)

Polokwane Municipality hereby informs motorists, residents, passengers and all affected stakeholders of a planned temporary lane closure on Nelson Mandela Drive to allow for the safe and efficient installation of beams at the Sandriver Bridge.

The affected stretch will be between Vermikuliet Street and Zebediela/Refentse Malesa Street (Disteneng traffic lights).

The works will be carried out in intervals as follows:

• Tuesday, 16 September 2025 (07h00 – 18h00): Closure of lanes from Seshego to city.
• Wednesday, 17 September 2025 (07h00 – 18h00): Closure of lanes from city to Seshego.

Motorists are encouraged to make use of alternative routes such as via Ladanna area and Matlala Road to ease congestion or exercise patience when travelling through the affected stretch.

The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and appeals for the patience and cooperation of all motorists and all stakeholders. These works form part of the Municipality’s ongoing infrastructure upgrade programme, aimed at delivering safer, stronger and more reliable road networks for all road users.
