A TYPICAL WEDNESDAY IN THE LIFE OF A CITY BUILDER

For the Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality, Cllr Makoro John Mpe, there is no such thing as an ordinary Wednesday — only another chapter in the story of a city on the rise.

The day began with boots on the ground, as he inspected progress on the Transit Mall construction for Leeto la Polokwane BRT system, where General Joubert and Jorissen Streets are being rehabilitated.

From there, he slipped into Mayoral Committee mode, chairing a special meeting to deliberate on key service delivery priorities for the residents of Polokwane.

Not done yet, the Executive Mayor then swapped the council chamber for the studio microphone, joining Dr. Moloko Mashamaite live on Thobela FM’s Tabakgolo Show, to spotlight Polokwane’s rise as the sport tourism capital of Southern Africa.

And as the sun sets, the diary still hums — now in talks with the UK High Commission on strategic development partnerships.

Just another Wednesday in a city that never stops moving and a leader who keeps it in motion.
