A WEEKEND OF STRATEGY AND VISION IN MOTION

Polokwane Municipality is convening its Mayoral Committee Strategic Planning Session this weekend, a crucial platform dedicated to deep reflection, rigorous analysis and renewed commitment to accelerating service delivery and strengthening institutional performance.

Led by the Executive Mayor, Cllr Makoro John Mpe and steered by governance expert Mr. Blessing Manale, the session brings together the leadership core of the municipality including Council Speaker Cllr Kobela Modiba, Whip of Council Cllr Phetola Rapetswa, Chair of Chairs Cllr Mmaphuti Muthabine, Chairperson of MPAC Cllr Mapula Phoshoko, Mayoral Committee Members, PHA Board Chairperson Emeritus Kgosi Setlamorago Thobejane, leaders of Organised Labour from SAMWU and IMATU, City Manager Ms. Thuso Nemugumoni, Chairperson of APAC Mr. Stanley Ngobeni, as well as Executive Directors and Managers of the municipality.

The strategic programme is anchored on key items that shape the city’s developmental trajectory including the opening address by the Executive Mayor, an overview of key municipal issues and challenges by the City Manager, a status update on audit matters (both internal and external), a strategic risk analysis with mitigating actions and planned projects, a financial status review and a progress report on project management and implementation.

Throughout the session, participants will also receive, deliberate on and take resolutions on service delivery and support directorate reports, ensuring that strategy translates into measurable impact for the people of Polokwane.
