POLOKWANE SHOWCASES COMMITMENT TO A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

 

Yesterday, Polokwane Municipality underwent the Provincial Greenest Municipality Competition Assessment at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

 

The comprehensive assessment focused on key environmental areas, including waste management, energy efficiency and conservation, water management, landscaping and tree planting, beautification projects, public participation and community empowerment.

 

This prestigious competition, which has evolved from the former Cleanest Town Competition, seeks to promote environmental sustainability while aligning local efforts with national and global climate change initiatives.

 

As part of the evaluation, assessors conducted an on-site inspection focusing particularly on waste management practices, a critical component in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Polokwane.
