RESERVOIR LEVELS SHOW RECOVERY FOLLOWING PLANNED WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS
Reservoir levels are beginning to show signs of recovery and improvement following the recent planned water supply interruptions from the Olifantspoort and Ebenezer schemes. While some areas are already receiving supply, others that are still experiencing low or no flow are expected to gradually receive water soon as the system stabilises.
The municipality will continue to closely monitor areas still facing challenges and provide relief interventions where necessary to alleviate the impact on affected communities.
Below are the current reservoir levels and flows, with indicative percentages to help understand the recovery progress:
- Ext 34 (Ivydale): 80% – Healthy and stable
- Ivydale P/S: 12% – Low, improving
- Potgieter: 7% – Very low, under pressure
- 30Ml D: 22% – Low, gradually stabilising
- 30Ml F: 24% – Low, gradually stabilising
- Olifants: 24 l/s – Steady inflow
- Ebenezer: 225 l/s – Significant contribution to system recovery
- Seshego New Plant: 4.5 Ml/d – Augmenting supply
- Seshego: 9% – Critical, under close monitoring
- SRN: 4.3 Ml/d – Moderate inflow
- Dalmada Final: 10 Ml/d – Supporting recovery efforts
- Penina Park: 40 l/s – Moderate inflow
- Doornkraal: 45 l/s – Moderate inflow
The municipality appreciates the patience and cooperation of all residents as it works tirelessly with its bulk supplier, Lepelle Northern Water, to restore and stabilise full supply across all areas.
