REVISED NOTIFICATION OF SHUTDOWNS ON OLIFANTSPOORT AND EBENEZER SCHEMES

Polokwane Municipality wishes to inform all residents and stakeholders of planned and scheduled shutdowns of key pumping stations by Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) as part of the second phase of connection and commissioning work for upgraded infrastructure.

LNW says these planned shutdowns are necessary to bring new and improved pump stations into operation, aimed at enhancing the reliability, efficiency and overall performance of the water supply systems in the long term.

The shutdowns are scheduled as follows:

1. 23 and 24 July 2025, Olifantspoort Scheme: Pump Station 2 and Pump Station 3 will be shut down for 48 hours.
2. 6 and 7 August 2025, Ebenezer Scheme: High Lift Pump Station (HLPS) will be shut down for 48 hours.
3. 20 and 21 August 2025, Olifantspoort Scheme: Pump Station 1 and Pump Station 2 will again be shut down for 48 hours.

Additional short-duration shutdowns (less than 48 hours) are anticipated during August and September 2025. These will be communicated in due course and will form part of the final integration process of the upgraded pump stations.

During these periods, communities supplied through the affected schemes may experience low water pressure or temporary water supply interruptions. Residents are kindly urged to use water sparingly and to store sufficient water in advance for essential use.

Polokwane Municipality sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and cooperation of all residents during this critical infrastructure upgrade.
