Polokwane Municipality has advertised various positions which will be closing on the 23rd of November 2023. With such advert, we are aware that criminals might take this opportunity to scam job seekers pretending to be officials working in the municipal Human Resource division.
All applications should, therefore, be submitted to the Municipal Offices (Civic Centre). Applicants should not fall into a trap by scammers who might offer to submit their applications on their behalf for a better advantage.
The public should also know that the municipality does not use SMSs to invite candidates for interviews; the municipality does not request interview candidates to pay any monies to any individual in any way whatsoever in in exchange for job placement; and further urges the public to be vigilant and not accept any job offer they did not apply for or never conducted an interview for.
Members of the public and job seekers are conscientized of below red flags and should know it's a scam when:
- They receive interview invite via an SMS or WhatsApp. The municipality does not use SMSs to invite candidates for interviews.
- Communicate using a no- Polokwane email address such as Gmail or yahoo- Municipal employees does not use personal email address to invite candidates for interviews.
- They are requested to call the sender back on their cell phone number. The municipality does not request to be called back by candidates, and for that case on a sender's cellphone;
- A potential victim is required to make payment fee in advance. The municipality does not request interview candidates to pay any monies to any individual in any way whatsoever in in exchange for job placement; and
- You are invited to an interview for a job that you did not apply for. We urge the public to be vigilant and not accept any job offer they did not apply for or never conducted an interview for.
- No Municipal officials will call to offer assistance in submitting your application and applications are only submitted at the Municipal Office.
