#WaterIsLife | Polokwane Executive Mayor Cllr Thembi Nkadimeng together with Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) Board led by Chairperson Mr Joe Mathebula, today, undertook a site visit to Lepelle Northern Water’s Olifantspoort Scheme.

This in order for LNW to provide progress on projects within the scheme; and to give overview of planned projects and current operations.

The visit was also attended by Limpopo Head of Water Affairs Ms Lucy Kobe, Polokwane Municipality’s Water and Sanitation Director Mr Makoti Monyamane, LNW’s Acting Chief Executive Mr Ahuiwi Netshidaulu, officials and service providers amongst others.

Cllr Nkadimeng appealed to LNW to communicate as and there is water supply challenge to Polokwane so that the communities can be notified in time.

One of the projects that are currently being implemented is replacement of additional 2 kilometre pipeline which has been failing for several times. The project is expected to be completed on the 30th November 2020.

LNW’s Mpho Chokolo said the water utility was also working on finding alternative water sources within the Scheme’s supply areas in order to boost surface water sources.
