Polokwane Municipality will implement water management programme as a temporary measure to reduce water shortages in high areas within the city.
This will involve shutting off water supply from Krugersburg reservoir complex overnight from 20h00 to 04h00 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This process will assist with accumulation of enough water in the reservoirs at night in order to generate enough pressure for water to reach high areas once released. This process will be implemented from Wednesday, 17 April 2019 and continue until the situation at reservoirs pick up.
A process to implement permanent solution that includes installation of high pressure pump, mini reservoir and non return valves for high catchment areas in Serala View and Flora Park is underway.
The process will affect all areas of supply in the City. Normal water supply will be restored to all areas once the situation improves.
Polokwane Municipality encourages the public and businesses to work with us to prioritise management of this vital resource by using water responsibly and sustainably.
The municipality further urges all to be patient during the process as it has potential to make positive impacts to our current water situation.
