WATER TANKER DELIVERIES
Most reservoirs have been low and some almost empty in the past few days. This has been contributing to water shortages in high laying areas within the municipality. The situation got worse on Sunday with some reservoirs drying up. Areas most affected are Seshego, Flora Park, Serala View, Thornhill and some parts of Sterpark and Bendor.
Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) indicated that load shedding is contributing to low reservoir levels because they have to stop pumps for two or more hours. The municipality engaged with Eskom to consider not implementing shedding that will affect all the sources at the same time.
LNW has promised to open two pumps after storing more water to increase supply. As a result, the municipality cannot say for how long this will continue because load shedding is a major contributor. However, we are hopeful that our engagement with the supplier and
Eskom will bear positive results.
The municipality will continue to explore means and partnerships that will help provide sufficient water supply to the city. In the interim, water tankers will continue to be provided to areas that are affected. The tankers will make rounds in the morning and evening (06h00-21h00) as follows:

Residents, businesses and visitors should always bear in mind that Polokwane is a water scarce area. We should adopt water conserving habits even during periods of water abundance.
By this morning the reservoir levels were reading as follows:
-
50ML=4.00%
-
New 30ML=0.00%
-
Old 30ML=4.00%
-
Potgieter=22.00%
-
Ext.34=95.00%
-
Seshego=7.00%
Water saving tips:
Can you imagine the City without water? Saving water is a collective responsibility; let us therefore preserve this scarce commodity.
- Automatic washing machines and dishwashing machines are wasting a lot of water and must not be used.
- Washing dishes by hand, and only fill one sink or basin with soapy water.
- Verify your home is water leak free. Check geyser overflow!
- Shower more often than bath.
- Never pour water down the drain when there may be another use.
- Don't let water running while brushing your teeth.
- Avoid flushing your toilet unnecessarily.(Use toilets with less water flush
